About the Brand

One of the largest poultry enterprises in the country. Lifeline has retail operations under the brand name: “Tender Chicken”.

Their operation size includes:

  • Over 28 Million Hatching eggs yearly.
  • Over 20 Million Broiler Birds yearly.
  • Over 22 Million Kg of meat are processed yearly.
  • Over 1000+ Broiler Farms.
     

Objective

To provide Lifeline with a completely digital solution that enables efficient management of their end-to-end operations starting from Feed mill to Processing Plant and Institutional/Retail Sales.

The solution needed to replace an existing custom software that did not provide them with complete tracking abilities, bird traceability, feed traceability, and other capabilities to manage their operations efficiently.

Challenges

  1. Traceability: Lifeline faced the challenge of accurately determining causes for flock performance variations (due to feed, hatching eggs, parent flock, or a host of other reasons). This was important for them to maintain flock consistency and ultimately optimize meat production. The only way to do this was by having end-to-end traceability.
     
  2. Manual Operations and Wastage: The manual tracking in processing plant operations led to inefficiencies, and delays in getting actual and accurate data. This resulted in delays in dispatch planning and ultimately delays in taking critical production and commercial decisions.
     
  3. Optimizing Broiler Feed Delivery: Handling feed requirements efficiently was another hurdle. Without accurate data, forecasting the feed requirements was a daunting task and often resulted in inaccuracy.
     
  4. No Real-time view of all aspects of Production: Due to the absence of a single application/platform it was getting difficult for Lifeline to have a holistic real-time view of all operational verticals.

  • End product source Traceability: Ability to trace backward from the SKU till the flock from which the bird was sourced and then to the parent flock of the bird.
  • Medicine Traceability - Tracing back to the medicine/vaccine supplier, expiry date, purchase details etc.
